Make & Create
We are excited to again include Annerley Library in Annerley Junction Fest for 2025. The library will be hosting craft for kids between 10am and 1.00pm.
Thanks to Brisbane City Council, the Annerley Library will again host Junction Fest’s Sustainability Hub, including two talks from locals Judy Gemmel and Nico starting at 11.30 am.Check out the 2025 Library talks below.
Plan & Care For Your Kitchen Garden
Judy is an Annerley local of 37 years who always dreamed of owning a Queenslander and being its caretaker. She works in her garden in increments over a long period until an overall “look” is developed.
Judy will discuss her approach to the planning and caring of her garden, how she shares space with native animals, and how she manages her thriving kitchen garden.
Landscape Interventions that Enhance Habitat
Nico is also an Annerley local but only for 25 years, and as an architect, as well as permaculture and playground designer, he has used his garden as a place for experimentation and observation.
Nico will talk about various landscape interventions, plantings and sculptures that work to enhance the habitat for local fauna and flora, as well as provide food and sanctuary for people and animals who inhabit our suburb.
