Annerley Junction Fest wouldn’t be the same without the incomparable Sellma Soul. Known across Meanjin/Brisbane for their bold style, quick wit and powerhouse performances, Sellma is back in 2025 as both host and performer.
From MCing on stage to breaking into song (and perhaps a cheeky roaming mic interview), Sellma brings colour, energy and just the right amount of mischief to the festival. Loved by many and unforgettable to all, she’s the vibrant heart of Junction Fest—and we can’t wait to welcome her back.

Dance Culture in Annerley
Get ready to move! Dance Culture, Brisbane’s multi-award-winning home of Salsa, Bachata and Latin vibes, is joining Junction Fest 2025. For over a decade they’ve introduced thousands of locals to the joy of Latin dancing, from complete beginners through to advanced performers.
With a team of 30 passionate instructors and a vibrant community of students, Dance Culture is more than a dance school—it’s where Brisbane comes alive on the dance floor.

Fashun
Back by popular demand, the Wearable Art Fashion Parade returns to Junction Fest in 2025!
Hosted by Mona Verdour and Sellma Soul, this year’s parade once again showcases the creativity of Brisbane-based mixed media artist Kristin Mountjoy. Known for her vibrant landscapes and wildlife-inspired works, Kristin brings her painterly style into the world of fashion, crafting one-of-a-kind garments from everyday materials.
Made from repurposed sheets and embellished with leftover paints from her art classes, each piece is a playful, sustainable creation—where nothing goes to waste and art is truly worn.
PERFORMANCE TIME: 11.30am – 12.30pm

Dance Masala
Dance Masala are Brisbane’s Premier Bollywood Dance Company dedicated to radically uplifting, and empowering our incredible dance community. Dance Masala hold the title of the Best Dance Team in Australia as awarded at the Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition and Australia’s Great Dancers by Shakti Mohan. In 2023, their first major work ‘ITEM’ premiered to wonderful acclaim, nominated for a 2023 Matilda Award, establishing their position as nuanced storytellers of complex themes. ITEM enjoyed a sold-out season and rave reviews.
Established in 2012, Dance Masala has built a supportive and inclusive community through dance, and is proud to be a reflection of our Australia today. Director of Dance Masala, @dreachoreo has 77K subscribers on YouTube, and is a well-respected choreographic voice in the global Indian Dance Community.

Mango Jam
Mango Jam Big Band is one of Brisbane’s most celebrated jazz ensembles, and has been performing across SEQ for over a decade. Led by Allister Harrison, Mango Jam possesses a deep repertoire of jazz, Latin and funk, as well as performing more pop-oriented, audience-friendly charts that crowds love to sing and dance to.
The band also work with a number of talented Brisbane-based singers. Recent performances include selling out the Brisbane Jazz Club, Government House Christmas Lights, The BSS Hope Gala at City Hall, and Twilight Music at the Queensland Maritime Museum.

Carolyn Vincent’s Ubuntu Foundation
Carolyn’s Ubuntu Foundation are the major supporter for Junction Fest this year. Join Carolyn as she explores the powerful African philosophy of Ubuntu—the idea that we are all connected, and that even the smallest action can ripple out to impact the whole world.

Off The Beaten Track – Club Yeronga Stage

HMSH
At just 13 years old, HMSH is already making waves as a talented solo vocalist. Regularly spotted busking in Queen Street Mall, HMSH recently won the award for Best Cover Song in the Moreton Bay Imagine Music competition.
Known for their creative performances, HMSH loves to mix songs up, sing acapella, and even incorporate AUSLAN signing while singing. Their musical influences range from Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift to Evanescence and beyond, creating a style that is both fresh and heartfelt.
PERFORMANCE TIME: 10.30am – 11am

Annie Scott
Annie Scott is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who plays acoustic and electric guitar, saxophone, ukulele, while dabbling in keys and drums.
Musical influences range from the theatrical flair of Lin-Manuel Miranda to the strength in Kate Miller-Heidke’s sound and admiration for Vance Joy for his honest, story-driven songwriting.

Blatant Saint
Blatant saint is a shoegaze band influenced by the likes of Greet Death, Title fight and Fontaines DC.
Combining ambient sounds and heavy noise rock guitar, Blatant Saint delivers a sound that hits hard and lingers after the last note.
PERFORMANCE TIME: 12.15pm – 12.45pm

Duo Emu
Do you dig your Classical Strings, Wonderful World Instruments and Kooky Keyboards from Annerley, from Ukrainian Jaw Harps and Indian Snake Charmers to Bach!
Roland has a PHD in interactive music technology, and Francis has been to Music College in Indonesia, together they are Duo Emu.
Be prepared for anything!

Whose Party
Whose Party is a three-piece all-female rock band from Brisbane, blending grungy riffs, pop-driven rhythms, and ethereal vocals into a sound that’s both captivating and dynamic.
After winning their first-ever battle of the bands heat at The Brightside Brisbane, they’re just getting started.
Drawing inspiration from The Breeders, Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey, and Radiohead, Whose Party love to bring a mood that moves and mesmerises.

Larrikin Puppets are award-winning Australian children’s entertainers who perform colourful, exciting puppet shows, songs and stories for stage and screen.
Larrikin’s fast-paced, feel-good puppetry encourages audiences to talk, play, sing, and dance along. Shows feature zany characters, catchy songs, and celebrate fun, kindness and diversity while nurturing child development.
